A glass of chilled Prosecco, wines and beers from Italy, all compliment the platters of antipasto, homemade pastas, seasonal seafood, poultry & meats, even game, and classic desserts...... presented to you on a 'postcard from Umbria'. The food was average, service was okay. However, there is a minimum charge of $45 that you are not advised of until you sit down and order. The menu has no prices, the waiter could have made up prices for all we knew - he wasn't making it clear. When we asked how much a dish was he would give a figure between this much and that much. There are too many "rules" to what you can eat on what you have to spend which is ridiculous. Overall, an over-priced place for average food restaurant. Not sure why there is such an older aged crowd there. You would think people would know how to taste what quality food is if they are paying for it. Never going back there.
This is a real favourite with the Mosman crowd and rightly so. The food is fantastic and service amazing, and for a top notch restaurant they actually allow BYO. It's always busy and buzzy and noisy on weekends so advisable to book, but on early week nights I'd recommend asking for a table downstairs so you get some buzz, as the room upstairs is small and deathly quiet.
This has to be one of my all-time favourite Italian restaurants. Delicious food, warm and friendly service, and BYO wine with no corkage. That's definitely a rarity! If you want to make a night of it, book for a lateish dinner, otherwise you may feel rushed. The menu is constantly changing, so there is no printed menu, the waiter will tell you what's on offer that particular night. There's always variety, and always something you will find to enjoy.
