I don't know why this place isn't crowded at happy hour, 5-7pm and a free cheese board to go with the $5 drinks. Friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. The star is the complimentary cheese board which is the equal of many offered in other places for $20 or more.

I refer to my comment that I sent to you yesterday and I note that you have removed it from your home page? Whilst I acknowledge your pathetic response I again will include my feedback in the review so that no one else will experience what I went through.
Last Tuesday I had the misfortune to have invited a large group of family and friends to join me for dinner at your restaurant to celebrate the arrival of a family member from Europe. To suggest that I was totally disappointed would be a complete understatement as the whole dining experience was embarrassing and a complete disgrace and given any other circumstance I would have just walked out. Went there last week. I ordered Osso Bucco and the lamb fell off the bone, It was very yummy!! We did have to ask them several times for our table water.

Il-Porcellino Trattoria & Pizzeria Restaurant in Balgownie, well named but should be ill- porcellino. Worst restaurant I've been to in a while. Disgraceful service food, poorly training staff. In brief, asked for our bottle of wine 4 times (no bucket, BYO bucket I guess), asked to order, only cleared tables when I handed them glasses and plates, food was poor (quality and taste), bread was stale!!!!, guests coffee came 10 minutes before ours, our desert came 10 minutes before theirs, the list goes on.....

We went for family dinner on a Sunday night - there were 7 of us including one toddler. The service for food was excellent however a little slow for soft drink etc but this won't matter to most as the restaurant is BYO. We ordered a baby pizza for our toddler but were accidently given a large pizza with the offer of them changing it for a small one - my son was excited by the large pizza and there was no way he was sending it back. Ice-cream came with extra lollies for him and it was easy to keep him sitting at the table as everything came just as we needed it. Food was excellent and timed perfectly - the mains do not arrive until after you have finished your entree unlike other places. Definitely recommended especially if there are a few of you.
