Il Vicolo Courtyard Restaurant in Carlton is a well known fixture on the Italian dining strip. Situated on Grattan Street, Il Vicolo offers diners a variety of dining experiences with the ability to cater for large or small functions, set menus and a la carte. These experiences are matched by an assortment of eating locations within the building and it is these locations that Il Vicolo is well known for. Diners can select from three areas, the main dining room, the outdoor courtyard (previously the laneway) and the function room upstairs. Their BYO feature is wine only and corkage is $3.50 per person.

It's not on the Lygon Street main drag but it's worth a visit! From the first bite of my mozzarella grissini to the dessert, everything was perfect. The ambience is classy and subdued without being pretentious. Service is attentive without being stuffy or obtrusive. The food is delicious and beautifully-presented. Add a nice glass of Prosecco and you have a class act!
Il Vicolo Courtyard Restaurant is the perfect place to go for a romantic dinner. The food here is superb, and the service could not be better. The serving sizes are a little smaller than other restaurants, and the prices a little higher, but the food is definitely worth it.
