Illawong Chinese & Seafood Restaurant

Been going here for 25 years and it's the best Chinese in the area.

Always hot and fresh and never over-oily. I always enjoy coming in here to eat in or getting some tasty take out.

Hmm not sure about the review below, but I love this place!

A family run business which is always thriving regardless of what's going on around them. Despite being in a small community shopping complex, Illawong Chinese is slightly fancy for your average Chinese place which makes is better for a nice family meal out.

They have stock standard Chinese meals which they deliver well and I've always enjoyed them all. Their Mongolian lamb comes out on a sizzling plate (like it should) and their honey prawns are totally happening. I'm personally not a fan of having fish at a Chinese place, except for prawns so I can really judge their whole seafood side of things.

Service is prompt, polite and sometimes comes with a good laugh, I'm glad these guys are my local AND one of my all time favourites.

Illawong is suppose to be on the water and I thought this would mean that this Chineese Seafood restaurant would source their produce locally and nice and fresh.



This is so from the reality of what is dished out on the plate. It was simply terrible. Either they tried to hide the freshness of the food in bad sauces (tasted packaged) or it came out dry and tasteless.



Sicne it was a "seafood" restaurant we had hoped that it would be worth choosing. But paying the extra didn't help. Give the non-seafood dishes a go if you must eat here, otherwise go else where if thats what your hoping for.
