Quality teaching, academic excellence and life-changing outdoor education is what Immanuel Lutheran College is renowned for. By all accounts the College's 2013 OP and NAPLAN results were excellent, with students achieving well above the national benchmark in all areas. Similarly, Immanuel's unique outdoor education programs - conducted mainly at the College's Mount Binga campus - have cemented their reputation for producing confident, well-rounded young men and women.

But behind the academic rigour and myriad opportunities on offer, Immanuel has been attracting interest for its ambitious capital works and redevelopment program. Since 2009, nearly $9 million has been invested in infrastructure including new Prep and Early Learning Centres, multipurpose courts, a sporting pavilion as well as a refurbished sports stadium, science, visual art and home economics facilities.

In 2014, the most ambitious project in more than 10 years has commenced with the construction of a purpose-built performing arts and music centre. With an additional 900 square metres of teaching and performance space, the facility will cost approximately $2.5 million and provide 130 local jobs.

The project is an extension of the existing Ken Thamm Centre which will evolve into a five-storey building with one level devoted to music and one devoted to drama and performing arts. Features of the new centre include a recording studio, music IT labs, a large ensemble rehearsal room, a raised stage and a 200 seat auditorium.

With the completion of the performing arts and music centre, Immanuel will have invested more than $11.3 million in major capital and minor new works which ultimately, is for the benefit of our students and their families. ...read more
