I’ve been to this pub a couple of times, but it really isn’t one of those pubs that I tend to go out of my way to visit. Look, it isn’t really anything wrong with the pub itself – the staff are quite friendly, they have some nice beers on tap, and also have a pretty cool rooftop bar, but it still really isn’t a pub that I make an effort to go and visit. It probably has a lot to do with the location, which once again isn’t the pub’s fault, but it does feel a lot more classier than what I tend to appreciate. I guess I tend to prefer to more down to Earth establishments.

Had a function that was held on the roof top. It was great to be outside with the beautiful Melbourne weather. There's seating on the side to relax and have a drink. Food wise, their finger food was average and bar tenders was friendly.

Not a bad place to go watch live sport on Foxtel if you are into the pub scene. They are well located and easy to spot - just outside the Parliament Station exit on Bourke Street and across the road from Parliament House. Great selection of beers on tap and they do a mighty fine Parma. Gets quite busy on Friday nights with the footy crowd.

Easily ranks among the best chicken parmigiana in melbourne. Very large and very tasty with sies of chips and salad. Other food is also quite good quality. Slightly more expensive than expected (but normal prices for inner city restaurants). Quick service and food was brought out without a long wait. Only criticisms are the slightly high drink prices and the fact that when we visited there was a periodic and highly disturbing loud banging from the floor above. #reviewtowin

The imperial is a great place for lunch during the week. They have really friendly staff. At lunch they run about like headless chooks and you can end up waiting a while to get your meal.
Its a good location though, right near the train station and the Theatre. And sitting outside on a summers day under the trees on Spring Street is really lovely. They have a dining/ restaurant area inside too that seats a lot of people, but I get the impression that booking is essential.
The best thing on the menu is the Imperial Burger. But be warned the food is not very cheap at all. Not much quantity in meals for what you pay either. My work colleagues and myself were very disappointed when they removed the specials ...read more
