Firstly, the manager was very lovely and helped accomodate us at the trivia we booked the upstairs space for. They do good classic pub food and drinks which are a little more on the pricier side compared to other suburban areas. I only had their cider on tap which was really crisp and easy to go down!
Once again, the definition of a beer garden has been stretched in this pub. In fact I didn't realise that I have walked into it until I noticed all of the ashtrays on the tables. Basically it is an area of the pub that has a roof that can be opened up, or closed in case of rain, though it never felt like I actually went outside. I quite liked this bar, though the prices were about average. The toilets were a little hard to find, though I did end up seeing the balcony (which is not really an outdoor balcony, it is simply overlooking that room that could be called a beer garden, but I find it really hard to actually say that it is).
This is an okay pub, it's not bad but it's not amazing either. I've had the pizzas here on their pizza special night, these were tasty. It's particularly good when the sun is out and would say the front bar with the high top tables and TVs are a hit with a group of friends.
The Imperial is now one of the better hang outs in Paddo since the latest renovation, its warm and cosy inside, friendly staff, and the pub menu is a winner (although a little $$$ - but this is Paddington). The owner brings all the meat produce from their farm, so its tasty and fresh, and they have 2 homemade relishes that you must try.
