I tried to sign up for a mobile plan here. I waited over 20 mins for service as they were understaffed and then was asked personal question after question about my financial records, landlord, employer etc. Then my credit check failed and I waited for half an hour while the sales consultant was on hold asking headquaters what to do. It turns out because I'm self employed I need to show my tax records and bank account information. However the other mobile shops nearby: 3 and Optus (which I signed up with successfully the same day) did not interrogate me (less intrusive information was asked) and did not need my tax records. Very annoyed so much of my time was wasted.
