International Diethnes Cakes & Coffee

Its hard not to walk pass this cake shop and not come in, particularly when you have a sweet tooth. Its in Melbourne Greek district, all the cakes and sweet treats are well presented and look amazing. Its actually hard to decide what to buy, you have your occasional favorites but with all their varieties I often like to try something different each time. Chocolate clair, mud cake, vanilla slices and tiramisu has been on my top list by far. They have off course the Greek style sweets and pastries. The only negative point is I find the coffee not so great, have only ordered it twice to have on the go with the cakes and on both occasions either probably not enough sugar was put in and the coffee wasn't warm enough. Nevertheless, I dont come here for the coffee, and highly encourage anyone visiting Melbourne or simply in the area and after some sweets this is definitely a place worth visiting.

They have sadly gone down hill, at least today was a very bad day. A group of us went in and not one coffee was hot enough. Not enjoyable at all. Every sweet we bought was just not right with the custard in several being the prime example of failure. And orders were wrong, constantly. With us and with others. Only one staff member could speak English well enough to do business.

I mostly drop in for a coffee and maybe a small sweet. But even if I have a meal, I am happy. Everything tastes right and the prices are within my comfort zone. Plus there is ample space for friends to join you. Worth a visit by day or night.
