Very nice authentic Japanese food restaurant

Gorgeous place, very authentic, loved the chef who was from Japan. Great, friendly service too.

We picked Ito Noodle Cafe for dinner at random whilst walking along Bourke Street. The interior is spacious with comfortable booth seating.

I decided on the Black Cod Set under 'Chef's Suggestion'. The waitress warned me that it would take around 20 minutes. The set arrived with a generous piece of black cod, rice, miso soup and a side dish. Admittedly, I did not have high expectations of the food. The black cod was delicious - smooth, flavorsome and cooked perfectly. I also enjoyed the accompanying side dish of cold chicken slices in broth.

So the verdict based on my one-off dining experience: above average Japanese food.

I really like the speedy service here, especially during lunch hours they still manage to keep queues down to a minimum whilst maintaining quality in their food. The ramen is my favourite, definitely a must try. I have yet to try any of their other dishes on the menu, I just can't seem to get enough of their ramen and always end up ordering the same dish when I'm there. Recommended!
