Came here on a Saturday night without a book and was lucky to get a table for three. Their ordering process is to place your order on their ordering sheet to avoid any confusions. We ordered their tempura udons and fried chicken. Their udons is delivered in a pot which was different. Did not really enjoy the fried chicken as I found it quite salty. Otherwise service is good and was efficient. Good place for small and large groups with booking.
Now that i have become a big fan of sashimi, i always do crave for it. I had dinner with a friend at Izakaya Chuji. We didn't have a booking and the seating area was full so we were able to dine at the bar. Sitting on the stools at the bar made it more of a drinking tapas style dinner, which was good. We ordered about 4 dishes, the gyoza, eggplant, deep fried chicken and a plate of sashimi for 2. A few drinks along the way to enjoy our tapas. The gyoza was really nice and the sashimi was also good except i would have preferred the slices of fish to be thinner. They were quite thick and the wasabi was not hot enough. Despite what the other reviews say this is definitely a real Japanese classic. The menu comprises of a very large selection of traditional Japanese foods. The sashimi is a tad on the pricey side but definitely delicious and the takoyaki balls and okonomiyaki here is to die for. They have an upstairs area as well for when the place gets too full. The food is well presented and the service is fairly efficient. I find the place quite authentic.
Poor service and waited a very long time for the food to be served, food was not warm / hot when served. Had to personally walk to cash counter to get own menu. Food portion was smaller than average. Food did not look appealing. For the price paid, it is better to go another place.
