Jai Ho Indian Restaurant
205 Swan St
Richmond, VIC, 3121
This area is notorious for a lack of adequate parking, yet I was lucky and found one near by. OK, the restaurant itself felt a little cold to me but the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was very nice albeit not as hot and spicy as I would have liked despite the words on the menu.
The Chicken Tikka was a delicious starter. The boneless pieces of chicken were tender, having been roasted to perfection in a traditional clay oven.
For mains, we adored the curries we had. The Butter Chicken was a beautifully mild and creamy curry .It was a crowd favourite which had us fighting for the last morsel. The Punjabi Goat Curry on the other hand was exceedingly tender and drenched in a heavier, full flavour-laden curry, courtesy of being cooked in a myriad of delectable spices while the Dal Balti was a vegetarian curry which was yet another enjoyable dish. The flavours were strong and were a great pair with the fluffy naan and beady basmati rice.
The dessert menu features a selection of popular Indian treats. We enjoyed the pistachio kulfi which was rich, creamy, and amply sweet as well as the decadent gulab jamun.
Had a Birthday Party for my 3 year old son at the Restaurant. Its a great restaurant. The food is amazing. What ever I asked for was available right from scissors, cello tape, tongs, candles etc. The decoration they did was amazing. I will just suggest a baby change table in the female toilet which they might look into in future as its very important for kids birthday parties.
