Jamaica Blue
Like other Jamaica Blue coffee shops, this is just another one keeping consistent service and hot drinks throughout. I was here not to long ago to take a trip through Ikea and thought it would be nice to grab a hot coffee while doing so. I didnt want the coffee within ikea because that quality was slightly below my standard. So i came across Jamaca Blue, having had their coffee at another location and was decent i decided to grab one here at Victoria Garden Shopping Centre. Not bad and for the price i paid i was pretty content with it and it was super hot as i requested. Staff were nice and friendly while serving me.
Did not expect much from the cafe just outside KMart but what a lovely surprise. Courteous, efficient and friendly staff, clean cafe, cakes are simple but ok, and ice coffee was unexpectedly well done- unlike most which usually are too sweet, too milky and could not really taste the coffee.
One good option in Victoria Gardens.
I was here a few days ago to catch up with some friends, a well-established franchise that you often see at shopping centres. I’ve had coffee at a number of their locations on a few occasions, however on this instance I wasn’t quite impressed. The service was extremely slow, although they had only a few people waiting couldn’t imagine why it would have taken almost 15miniutes to get a coffee and wait for the cake to come out. To add to the slow service, the coffee on this time round wasn’t too great. I didn’t order anything out of the ordinary jus the typical skim latte, just not sure why it wasn’t good. Some room for improvement with them, again I wouldn’t’ rule them out completely if in the centre.
I have been coming to Jamaica Blue Cafe in Victoria Gardens for the past 3 years simply because I love their coffee. Coffee is in my blood and trust me i know my coffee. The male barista at this cafe makes excellent coffees and vey consistent at what he does. Luckily, for me I work in one of the offices near this cafe so I get my coffee fix there everyday during the week. I recommend this place to everyone, you won't be disappointed. I have their loyalty card which is really great for regular coffee drinkers like me because I get rewarded with free coffees after a certain amount of points. They also serve great cafe food as well as customer service.
The coffee here can be good, and there are different blends to choose from, including organic. However it all depends on who the barista is. I have had some recent bad experiences with baristas who either don't know the difference between a latte and a cappuccino or who think a cappuccino is a latte with cocoa powder on top.
