28/02/2013 - First time I went here I couldn't eat the food, was to salty and overcooked.....These days the food has been fantastic. The fish bites are massive and awesome, the girl who served me, was very polite and cooked my food really well....The fish was cooked perfectly and my chips had just enough crunchies in there to satisfy me...Dimmys need to be changed though....Overall I give this place a 7 out 10...well done for improving so quickly...Must be the girl that served me teaching them how to cook cause she wasn't there the first time.
Every time I have been to this milkbar for fast food I have been very disappointed with there health regulation touching food with there bare hands
Not sure if you are aware of health regulations but fish and chips are not required to wear gloves i have never been to a fish and chip shop that wears them how can they when they are battering everytime i have been in this shop they wash their hands constantly due to battering and thats done in front of the customers there is a sink next to the fryers.....
Went in Sunday night for tea, 3 people on, 2 stood to the side talking most of the time i was there (a good 30minutes) while one poor staff member was rushing around, customer complained and this staff was left to deal with the customer while other 2 staff disappeared, the staff member then disappeared to the kitchen leave this poor staff to deal with their mistake and an upset customer, the same staff was trying to cook burgers, serve in the milkbar, answer the phone , one staff member finally came out to "help" however stood staring at the food in the oil? Not sure what happened but sunday night was chaos, 3 staff members and only 1 was doing all the work, I got there as staff returned from a delivery, perhaps this was why my order wasn't ready? This staff member was very helpful, asked what i was waiting for and cooked my order straight away, I've come to this shop many times and would normally recommend it not sure what happened sunday??
This fish and chip shop is great some days not so great others, young girl that made my burger makes amazing burgers, her grilled fish was amazing my wife thoroughly enjoyed it, went back and the next grilled fish was oil soaked and overcooked, the same night a different staff cooked my chips again they were amazing, The reason for my review is i've been in twice in the last couple of weeks and haven't seen the staff there, the food has been pretty average, my advise get the staff back and make sure staff serves you!! Different staff made my dinner the other night and to busy talking not only left food out but food was undercooked, this shop definitly has potential, also noticed the staff gets quite rushed when its busy, constantly at the staff working and looks very stressed, makes you feel like you shouldn't be ordering. Been back this week, amazing burger than you however other staff burned my chips....this fish and chips gets mixed reaction in our house, some days its great others not so great, some days one staff member makes my burger next day different staff member, needs consistency also not sure about cheese in a souvlaki and raw onion, if using raw onion should be red onion, would be nice if onion was cooked...this shop has definite potentional
Found this place very strange as know one seemsd to know what they are doing. I went there at lunch time and they hadn't bottered with putting any Steam Dim Sims on or Pies in the warmer. They were also out of Smokes. I went back another day and asked for a Hot Dog and they put it in a round roll instead of a long roll. I asked why and they said they were out of long rolls. I got a Bacon & Egg Roll on my way to work which was nice but I had to wait while they warmed up the grill plate, Having said that they were always friendly. I havent been back since so I hope they have got their act together now
I've been in at lunchtime a while ago, food was not nice, grilled fish was oily and dry, chicken burger looked like a mess, Hamburger had to much tomatoe sauce couldn't scrap it off as it was put directly on meat / onion not on top, couldn't taste the onion coz it was coverd in sauce, won't go there at lunchtime but suggest trying dinner time!! They could be new management still learning??
