The first time a friend introduced me to Sushi Bar Rashai was over ten years ago, and i've been going back as regularly as i can ever since. This is my favourite Japanese restaurant in Sydney. The food is seriously great, just one of my faves, the "Crazy for Salmon" sushi plate is something else. I always opt for the sushi/sashimi platter and it's not only melt in your mouth everytime, its so reasonably priced for the amount and quality of sushi & sashimi you get.
Kazu and all the staff at Bar Rashai are attentive and friendly, they let you know ahead of time due to how busy they are, that there can sometimes be a little wait. It's totally worth the wait, however i must admit i've never waited overly long between courses.
I will keep going back so long as they keep going .... judging by the numbers of people that keep booking there, that will happily be for a long long time!

For mains I ordered the sashimi tuna roll, the eel and cucumber roll and the sashimi scallops. All were so fresh and yummy but the stand out favorite were the scallops - incredible, a must try. My boyfriend ordered the Salmon Teriyaki Don and again we were happily surprised at how wonderful it was. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the light teriyaki glaze was a nice compliment to the grilled salmon. Also, I've seen a few people note that the service ...read more
Wonderful, wonderful Japanese food. Great sashimi (the sashimi scallops are like biting into clouds!) and it has a huge range of options for those not into the raw fish! Service is a bit slow, but the food is so good that you can forgive them. (we've been back half a dozen times at least!)
