JAX Tyres Caloundra

Called Bob this afternoon at midday for a roadworthy, new tyres and break rotors to be machined. I received friendly prompt service and as told I could have it done by the end of the day. Sure enough after dropping it in at 1:30 I was picking the car up at 4:15. Bob is very fair with pricing and even put in the extra effort to change a couple of threaded nuts on the wheels over for a couple of second hand spares he had laying around. 10/10 for me.

I can thoroughly recommend Jax Caloundra.
I purchased tyres from a local competitor who was astonishingly rude when I returned to complain about steering vibration at 100kmh. They reluctantly re-balanced the front wheels but the shudder continued.
I then went to Jax who not only fixed the problem by properly balancing the front wheels but also alerted me to a rear end shudder. Jax checked that the shudder was not caused by any problem with the rear tyres.
The next day, my mechanic found that the rear shudder was due to a crack in the transmission / driveshaft dampener which needs replacement.
Jax impressed me by alerting me to this issue as well as doing a good wheel balancing job.

Went to Jax Caloundra for 4 Tyres and a service. Of course the tyres advertise were not available so had to buy the dearer ones, Then i received a phone call informing me that i would need to spend a further $2500 to correct a number of faults (Brakes shocks steering engine), an to effect repairs, now this was a lot of money for and older car, so i questioned if it was worth spending that amount. I explained that i could scrap the car and fine another car. YES they say, it was indeed worth doing, Like a fool i went ahead with the repairs, i now have a car that eats oil an blows smoke, brakes that squeak and parts missing of the engine, (Engine protection plate with Toyota written along it) which of course the trained mechanic could not remember being there despite 4 empty bolt holes. Can't give ANY stars here!
Couldn't work out why my kid had been slightly undercharged for full set of tyres and some agreed servicing etc for which we'd been fully pre-quoted; that is until I went outside to see the car and discovered the newly acquired (and driver unnoticed), but MOST prominent (passenger-sided) massive crack which stretched halfway across the front windscreen!
Dirty work Jax! and SO annoyed that you didn't come clean to the customer upon payment and collection. What, you couldn't afford your own business insurance? or is it just less paperwork to knowingly knock a few measly bucks off and make the youngster feel they'd received a meager unexplained discount? I used JAX Caloundra to fit new tyres to a friends car and the whole service experince was a joke. Frist I was quoted a price and time over the phone, only to arrive at the shop early and be quoted another price. After I had waited 1hr 30mins (45mins-1hr over the time I had been quoted, I was told the car still wasnt ready (they did admit it was their fault) and was driven back to work. Upon being driven to work I was told the car would be approx 15 mins. It took a further 2 hours for them to call and say the car was ready.



I spoke to a senior staff member, but I was brushed off because they were 'very busy'. I will never shop at JAX Caloundra again
