Jaycar Electronics

Well, while this is an electronics store, it isn't want you would consider a 'consumer' electronics store. Basically if you want a TV you go elsewhere, but if you want to build your own TV (or computer, or what-not) then this is where you come. Basically it pretty much has everything you need, and even things that you may not realise that you need. Staff are reasonably helpful as well. Oh, and then even have some options if you want to learn how to actually build stuff.

Apart from being a bit expensive, they have a lot of stuff and electronics. No wonder they are killing dick smith.

This is my go to for electronic supplies - they have such a big variety it's hard to say where to start! They sell copper wiring, conductors, LED lights, resistors, cables, switchboards and aligator clips. They have a fun electronics toy section which sells remote powered cars and planes. Great for shopping for unique gifts for your tech savvy friends. The service here is usually very friendly and upbeat - they are always willing to help!

I was at this Jaycar Electronics recently in looking for a remote control car as a gift for friends son. I was told by a few people who have made a number of purchases from them that they stocked a great range, as its not a store that I often go to unless there is a specific need. As mentioned to me, there was such a large range I wasnt sure where to start looking, different sizes, prices, speed, colour, model etc. almost buying a car! It could range anywhere from $10 to $60+. Similar to the other reviewer I had a sales assistant who was very helpful, knowledgeable about the products and its features. Ended up purchasing the Porsche GT3, was very pleased with it and the overall buying experience. Apart from what I was in there to look for they stock everything electronic, extensively range from switches, IT, gadgets, auto & outdoor, toys, kitchen needs etc. would def return!

I went here looking for a toy helicopter with absolutely no knowledge of toy helicopters. Loc (the sales person) helped me very patiently choose the right helicopter and I couldn't be happier. He explained to me everything and I walked out of the store very satisfied not only with my purchase but also with the outstanding level of customer service I received from Loc. He let me try all the helicopters, explaining the difference between each one, he did not at all seem annoyed with my stupid questions or crashing the display helicopters. I would definitely go back here for any electronics I require and would recommend this place to anyone (make sure to ask for Loc).
