I needed a power steering unit and a handbrake cable replaced. I visited Josh the day the steering fluid leaked out. I asked if any damage would occur If I drove it for a week without fluid. He said it was unlikely. Took car in a week later for the job. He charged $420 for laboutr only. I explained I was not working and asked if cash (no receipt) would help. It certainly helped him. He saved the GST and Tax(about $170) and took $20 off. The next day it became obvious that the steering pump had destroyed itself from running with no fluid. Did some research and found that all that was needed was to disconnect the belt when I drove it. I returned to Josh and asked. "Did you know that if you drive without steering fluid that the pump is likely to fail unless the belt is removed." He said. "I didn't drive the car without fluid". I replied.
