We contracted Jeff to tile our front balcony. It was an old pebble crete surface with chunks missing out of it and uneven. Jeff told us he would concrete over the pebble crete and thus have a totally even surface to work on.
I was not at the house when Jeff started the work. I arrived when he had almost finnished the job and was horrified to see he had not concreted the balcony as promised. He had just laid the tiles over the existing terrible pebble crete. I wonder if I hadnt come home before it was finnished If would have been told. We were not consulted about this change in plan. I would not have given the go ahead if I had know.
The result is we have uneven tiles. The leading edge of the balcony that faces the street has cut tiles which do not match the edging of the original tile ...read more
