I ordered a cake for a family member's 21st. Firstly, I went into some detail as to how I wanted the cake to look. The overall colour of the cake was fine, however, the decorations were pretty standard. I asked for a highly decorated cake with a lot of colour through it. The person even took sample photos and photo copied them when I placed the order. However, the cake still looked pretty standard. I had family friends that offered to do the cake, and I know they could have done a similar job decorating it, for a lot less. It was really nothing special. For some reason I thought that paying for a professionally decorated cake, it would mean that it would look spectacular. It really wasn't. It was just mediocre.
