I came back to Jerry's for a coffee and a quick snack as I live locally and was curious to see if there had been any improvement since my last visit over two years ago. It's still a cute little milkbar which has nostalgic appeal but there is nothing I want to eat here. I cannot understand why some places become so trendy.
Beware if you don't like coffee served Luke warm. I went there on the weekend with my parents who are early 60's. They have just moved into Elwood, and we were getting to know their 'local'. We ordered 3 coffees, and mine was luke warm, as was my dads. The owner overheard me ask my dad if his was hot enough. Then the owner proceeded to bellow at us (yes BELLOW at us - because for some reason they thought my Dad must be deaf if he is in his 60's!!) that we should have told the waitress to make it extra hot. Well, if I knew you serve coffee colder than any other cafe in Melbourne - I would have asked for it to be hotter!!
Jerry's Milk Bar is a really cute hole-in-the-wall type place full of local charm. Unfortunately there was a problem with my order, then the item I wanted was not avaialable so I reordered. My food was cold and it was obvious that the place was preparing to close. We ate in an hurry and left. It was disappointing.
Change your hours on your profile as they dont match what your hours truly are. We arrived late in the afternoon as they the cafe was closing, luckily we were still able to grab some late lunch and was well worth it, left full up on coffee and milkshakes which were huge! We all had chicken and bacon burgers. great cafe and atmosphere
One of my worst experiences ever. Ordered meal, waited 50 min before asking where it was after no one came by the table. Then they brought it out immediately after, COLD. I then asked for the bill and wanted to leave, hungry without having eaten. Then the waiter was angry with me (for receiving cold food?) and shoved the money in my hand remonstrating with me. So not only do i leave hungry, I get a waiter angry with the customer. Wasted my whole morning on that experience.
Dear Billab31
My name is Phillip Wilson, and as the manager of Jerrys Milkbar was most upsett to read this review. I do whole heartly apologise for the service received on your recent visit to our small hub. We do hope that sometime down the track you would reconsider revisiting Jerrys and giving us another go at presenting you with a much more organised and satisfying experience. I am not about to make excuses for the experience received but whole heartly apologise and do hope to see you both sometime in the future.
Regards P. Wilson
If you would like to email your postal address to myself at [email protected]
I would be more than happy to send out a gift voucher in an effort to redeem our cafe, if you decide to give Jerrys a second chance.
