A nice cosy hidden greek restaurant in Fitzroy. Extremely busy, no reservations are taken. If lucky you can kind a seat otherwise could be waiting a while before a seat or table becomes available. A lot of people choose to take away. We were lucky to find a small table as there was only 3 of us. We ordered the lamb to share, chips. The serving for 2 wasnt filling, felt like i could have eaten the serving to myself. The lamb was really good. The meat was soft and the flavours went really well with the tzatziki sauce. The chips had a but of feta in it and herbs which didnt give it the boring chips flavour, in fact gave it a real tasty flavour. While seated and enjoying our meal the amount of people walking in and out ordering take away really shows how popular Jimmy Grants is. Its a very casual dining, nothing fancy and food is being served quickly. Staff a nice and would check it everything is ok throughout.
Such an incredible amount of hype- I simply had to go take a look. If getting a meal for under $10 has appeal then this is the place! It's crowded and the seats are tiny and cramped but the food is ultrafresh and tasty. If, like me, you think souvlaki and think lamb, think again! Try the yummy Patris souvlaki made with prawns and for some Asian-fusion, there's always the Jimmy's Dimmys! Eat-in or takeaway and open very late.
