Conveniently placed if you're shopping in the CBD, Jimmy's Recipe does my favourite Malay staple - beef rendang - well. It's also a good place to hit up for a steaming bowl of laksa when the weather is chilli.

I've been meaning to come here for some time and yesterday I finally did! It claims to have Sydney's best laksa and it's pretty good, but don't know if it's the best, ya know?
The chicken in the chicken laksa is the good quality chicken which is a bonus - you know how sometimes the chicken in chicken laksa isn't that good quality? This one tastes like real chicken fresh from a shop.
Similarly the tofu is the good quality kind and also does a very good job of soaking up a fair bit of soup! YUM!

I have two staples that I always order for Jimmy's: the chicken laksa and nasi lemak (I alternate between beef rendang and curry chicken - they're both good!). It's quick and tasty - the winning combination for me. The chicken laska is generous in the coconut milk department with generous servings of chicken and noodles (I like it on the creamier side, so it's just how I like it). The Nasi Lemak comes in a nursing home style plastic plate with divided sections - not the prettiest of plates but I'm there for the food so it doesn't bother me! It comes with all the usual sides and coconut rice. Great Malaysian restaurant - check it out.

One of the best Laksa's in Sydney, and easily the best value Laksa and Roti. $7/50 for the vegetable and Tofu Laksa and it is big enough to share.

This place is always a buzz! I must admit I have only eaten here twice but I loved it. The only difficulty I really have with it is that there is too much choice. The cuisine is very varied. To me, it seems the menu is a melting pot of Asian culture. The dishes are cheap and cheerful. Try a curry for a treat!
