Joanies Baretto (Little Bara) is Thornburys answer to that joint you stumbled upon

without a travel guide winding your way through the back streets of your favourite Italian city.


We want to celebrate some of the great Italian icons with you.. Wine, beer and aperitivi.

Born out of the Umberto Espresso Bar family, our customers had nowhere to go for pre or post dinner drinks

So we thought we would create a space for our Northside paesani and make a night of it.

Accompanied by the same warmth and hospitality you are used to receiving from Umberto,

Joanies is a place you can indulge and get loose in.

Italian booze is our thing. Discover wines and craft beers from all over Italy.


Aperitivi, digestivi and grappe.
