An inconspicious little cafe in Surry Hills, near Museum station and Hyde Park. The decor inside is lovely, with rustic ornaments and dim incandescent lighting. The staff are super friendly and nice and their coffee is great but the food is quite average. Simple, classic breakfast items like eggs benedict and big breakfast, but nothing amazing or unique.
You're likely to walk past this cafe without even noticing it given his discrete the signage is. I visited the cafe looking for something sweet. There wasn't a lot to choose from - some muffins and slices including a selection of gluten free items - but admittedly, it was quite late in the day nearing their closing time. So, caramel slice it was. As far as caramel slice goes, it was quite nice.
Lovely little cafe! The staff are super friendly and happy to accommodate you. I ordered the tuna Niçoise salad which was yummy and was a very generous size portion. They even knew how to brew chai tea. :) Happy days. Will definitely come back to try their breakfast menu.
Joe Black has always been loyal to me.
When my regular coffee place changed its beans and went all weird, I switched to these guys and they literally saved my mornings. The coffee here is GREAT, the baristas are super friendly and learn your name, plus they are talented at smashing out some coffee queues in no time.
The food might be a bit pricey for me (about $20 on average for a meal), but if you’re after notable coffee, they have you covered. And I know this sounds old-school but I love that they still have loyalty card, cause when you’re a regular, it really ads up.
Their little yogurt cups are perfect if you’re in need for a breaky on the go.
