Although I came with a friend for coffee and cake, we wound up having dinner and were pleasantly surprised. I found my pasta to be delicious and followed it with the wickedest chocolate cake (has to be seen to be believed!) The staff is very friendly and service is good. My only complaint is the noise level. We had to raise our voices to order our dessert (it was either that or point) I think restaurants and cafes seeking the cool and the hip (and the cashed up) crank up the music thinking it gives the place a funky vibe. It doesn't. We probably would have stayed longer and had more if the noise hadn't been so loud.
I must admit that my expectations were low, so I was pleasantly surprised. It was a fairly busy place and service was pretty good - attentive, but not overbearing. We were seating outside and they were prompt to put down the exterior blinds when the sun was out and quick again to pull down the plastic blinds when it started to rain. I had a very green juice/smoothie (the name of the drink escapes me..."Energy" something or other) - freshly made with a variety of fruit and spirulina - still with some little pieces in it but it was delicious - almost a meal in itself! I had the Cajun Spiced Roasted Chicken Breast and although the cajun spices were quite subtle, it was a great meal - generous serving of chicken, sweet potato chips, baby spinach and a very tasty mango salsa. Good value, although I must admit my friend's dishes didn't look as good as mine, in my opinion!
We have been going to Joe's for many year and love it! Plenty of room for prams and excellent consistency with food! Good place for the all day big breakfasts. Staff is aplenty and i find service fast, which is a must when you have a baby with you! Dinners are great too! The only fault i can find is that the potato wedges are too thick!! :P
