I should have read these reviews before shopping at John Cootes. Sales staff were brilliant and I purchased two single beds that came with underbed storage drawers. Items were delivered and unfortunately one of the underbed storage cabinets had been damaged in transit. The delivery people couldn't have been more apologetic and took it straight back to the warehouse - they were lovely. We discovered after they had left that two underbed storage drawers were damaged so I immediately contacted the store to let them know as you only have 24hrs to do so. Was told to ring customer service on Monday but then I explained I would be outside the 24hr time period. Person said they would fax over to them now. Spoke to customer service representatives on the Monday and the Tuesday who on both occasions confirmed my replacement goods had been ordered. Bought a $1500 (on sale) leather suite and within 2 years is falling apart. Rang "Customer Service" and what a joke that person is. Did not care, but agreed it should not be coming apart within 5 years....but would not help. Sent them a letter outlining my grief, do you think they even had the courtesy to respond? NO!
All in all would steer well clear of these people as they have ZERO after sales service. Once they have your money, you're out of mind.
Have now taken my claim to fair trading.
Take my advice folks and never go anywhere near John Cootes Furniture!!!

I also received disgusting service from JC. ive taken my case to Dept of Fair trading.
We recently ordered a table that we viewed in John Cootes store. I specifically asked if the delivered unit would be identical as we had some concerns, but was assured by the floor staff that it would. The table delivered is very different to the in-store model and Customer Care have done nothing to help, not even responding top my emails. I wouldn't trust what they show in store, and good luck getting any help when things go wrong !
