There aren't many places west of Sydney Road where you can get a good coffee AND an excellent breakfast under the same roof.
Joe strikes the balance right, and as a local who lives two blocks away it's an easy choice when I'm too lazy to make my own brekky and would rather have a proper espresso instead of stovetop.
Last time I was there I had a tapioca dessert special which was pitch-perfect (if you like tapiocaand I love it).
The coffee hasn't let me down yet, either.
And finally, it's one of the few places where the staff actually make an effort to smile at you. Keep that up.
One of those trendy little cafes, with a very funky fit-out and slightly alternative menu options. The service was friendly but dishes couldn't be altered... e.g. removing something a simple from a breakfast dish - a little weird, but fair enough. Food was generally quite yummy and consistent. Chai latte no good.
I don't normally drink chai, do you know if it was from powder, a dry mix, or a wet mix?
