John O'Keefe

John recently celebrated 30 years as a lawyer. For many of those years he was a government lawyer advising on criminal law and other matters. In 2002, he left the public service and joined private practice. He has been operating his own firm since 2007.

Johns areas of specialisations are criminal law, personal injury and family law, but he also takes on other types of cases. He is confident in court and often acts as both solicitor and barrister for his clients saving them money, as they pay for only one lawyer, not two.

The majority of Johns clients are ordinary people who cant afford excessive legal fees. For that reason, John tries to set the lowest rates in Canberra. For many of his cases he charges a fixed fee and he does personal injury matters on a no win no fee basis.
