Featuring views of the river from the 120-year-old terrace house, this versatile restaurant is best known for its old-world high tea. Freshly baked scones, pastries and finger sandwiches will whet your appetite, while popular choices include savouries such as smoked salmon and whipped brie or homemade sausage rolls. Picking venues from the Entertainment Book has worked well over the years, but this was the second failure.
The problems started with trying to make a dinner booking. Ringing Sunday afternoon, I left a booking request on the answering machine with contact details. Nobody ever acknowledged the message. My best friend and I took my daughter (8 years at the time) here for High Tea and had a great experience. They had smaller suitable towers for kids which my daughter loved as she got one all to herself. The adult tower had such delicate finger food which looked wonderful and tasted even better! It is a beautiful heritage building and the atmosphere was lovely, although posh they were very welcoming to kids.
