Dr Joshua Richmond is a Clinical & Laboratory Haematologist. Joshua is the Acting Director of Haematology at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and joins our team working as a private Clinical Haematologist. Dr Richmond is an enthusiastic teacher and is highly committed to the development of a full tertiary level Haematology service on the Sunshine Coast.

Dr Richmond is a passionate and personable Haematologist. He has a considered and friendly approach and enjoys fostering genuine patient - doctor relationships, where patient's feel comfortable and safe, ensuring patient autonomy.

For Dr Richmond, providing patients with the best possible care is of paramount importance and this means:
- He recognises and understands that each patient is unique and is also part of a unique family unit. He is careful to ensure each patient receives thorough and professional care, and is allowed time to ask questions, and encourages open communication.

-He has a strong focus on current best practice by keeping up to date with developments in the field of Haematology and participating in professional development and teaching.

- He enjoys developing and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues to offer consults or collaboration, with the focus of providing the best patient centred care possible.


Dr Richmond completed his Clinical and Laboratory fellowship in October 2011, and he has worked as a consultation Haematologist both publicly and privately since then. Dr Richmond is also qualified as a General Practitioner (GP) gaining his fellowship in 2005 before returning to pursue his passion - Haematological care. Along with his wife, Dr Richmond has three school aged children who all love the Sunshine Coast and feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful community and part of the world.
