K9 River Retreat

I cannot rate K9 retreat high enough. Not only are Chris,Petra and staff compassionate and caring about our pouches, they also are toward the human 'parents' going out of their way to elevate pressure in circumstances not planned. Jaffa loves her holidays at K9, and has been a regular for many years. I love seeing her 'posts' on Facebook, seeing her smile and being cuddled by loving people. Also getting an email to update with special notes from Jaffa. My fur baby always looks more content and happy, although tired out by all the play, walks and swims, when I pick her up or when she has been loving delivered when the circumstances call for it. Well done K9 gang!

Caring and great fun for the dogs. Walks and cuddles are always included. Our pug dog runs out to their car when they come to pick her up. Never a backward glance. She knows and loves where she is going. We have a holiday and she has one too. A great place

We hate the thought of kenneling our dog when we go away, but sometimes there isn’t a choice and a loved pet has to be left in the care of others. Lucky for us we discovered K9 River Retreat. It’s a farm on the edge of the Barron River behind Kuranda on the Tablelands. This is NOT the nearby cage-based Kuranda Pet Resort.

We are very disappointed! We always took our 2 dogs to K9 for long term stays and they had a great time and Chris&Petra looked after them in a very personal and caring way. They agreed to take them again this year and we booked our flights to Germany and all and all of a sudden we got a phone call and they told us that they no longer gonna take them because they're not socialized with other dogs and hence they have to have their own yard and so K9 can't put.more dogs into the same yard and that means they're losing money! That was a shock, as they always knew they're not socialized and that was the reason why we went with K9 in the first place - because they gave that extra personal care. But since they expanded and can take more dogs, their personal care changed into making money as their main priority.
