Kalimera Souvlaki Art

These souvlakia folk do NOT make the best Souvlaki in the world. But I can honestly say, having travelled and eaten my way across our nation, they DO make the very best souvlakia in Australia. The meat is just juicy enough to add heaps to the flavour and the tzatziki sauce is not that crop cheap stuff that most sell. My only problem is that I can not stop at one.

jUST LIKE GREECE! I love coming here to have a taste of my european holiday. There is no other place in Melbourne that cooks their pork souvlakia to perfection. I always enjoy ordering an open plate (pork) with Tarama sauce. Very satisfying and large. Great value for money.

What's not to love about this place? They do souvlaki and they do it well! The food is great, fresh and reasonably priced. If you're not feeling ravenous then a platter is big enough for 2 people. The place is popular so it can get quite busy and loud at night.

Sunday fatty and lazy day, catching up with a friend in Oakleigh for lunch and Kalimera Souvlaki Art was where my friend took me. Open mix plate with a side serving of chips to share was massive and enough for two people. Eating in I prefer an open souvlaki that way i can eat it how i want with little or lots of sauce. Having the extra chips on the side made me so full but it was a good lunch and very tasty. The flavours of the meat was juicy and soaked the butchers paper that it was placed on. All the flavours went well together. For a Sunday lunch it was slightly busy but with the good weather and people being lazy and prefer to be out, this place does well. It took about 30mins for our order to come out which was a decent amount of time because i was getting really hungry and was happy to see our order fresh.
