Kamari Greek Restaurant
Famous for its Mediterrarian restaurants, Kamari stands out on the Grand Parade for its traditional Greek cuisine. Homemade dips such as tzaziki, consisting of yoghurt, cucumber and garlic are a favourite amongst regulars.
With the mains, the combination dip platter and souvlakia are also well worth the travel to this beachside suburb that is just beyond the inner city. A children’s menu is also available, so take note if you dine with your family.

This was not an enjoyable experience. We were first placed on a table that clearly did not fit all of us. We had to ask for another table because we were too squished. We ordered the set menu, they took at least half an hour to bring out the first course. Calamari were over cooked and too salty. The zucchini chips? Boring and needed salt! The hot chips that came with the sovlaki were too salty. The pita bread was OK. The dips that came with the pita bread were too runny and not that enjoyable. The Tzaziki, you couldn't taste the cucumber, you could only taste yogurt. The haloumi with watermelon was yummy, this shouldn't be hard to stuff up. Slice, grill and serve. Thie chicken souvlaki was lovely and tender but there wasn't enough to go around. I left there hungry. The best thing about this restaurant is that it's BYO. I won't be coming here again.
For sum reason at Kamari we were seated at the back where the baby chair was behind a column,it was very squishy and I don't believe the table behind us was taking up much room, not a good start. Lucky my friend didn't bring a pram!
Food wise,

From what I hear, this place looks authentic on the inside and you're treated like family from the get-go.

The whole experience started before we arrived with a bottle of complimentary champagne on the table - i didn't ask why, and a warm welcome when we ...read more
