Opened in December 2011 on Devonshire Street in Surry Hills, Katsu Yachiyo is proudly serving creative Japanese deep fried dishes as well as fresh sushi and sashimi.

Katsu Yachiyo is a surprise find!
We visited for a weekday lunch. I ordered the Sashimi Lunch Set, which was accompanied by edamame, miso soup, agedashi tofu and a chocolate mouse dessert. The sashimi tasted fresh. We also ordered the Lobster Fillo, which was essentially deep fried lobster within a filo type pastry. Yum! The restaurant is quite cosy. Service is efficient and very much on-the-ball by the sole Japanese waitress.
I am definitely coming back to try more of the menu, especially their katsu!
