Kawa - Sake

Back again even though last time experience wasn't the greatest but was here to celebrate a friends farewell. Not much improvement in terms of the wait time. Staff were extremely friendly but i guess they just needed to be speedy. I suggested to order to share as would save a lot more time than ordering individual plates. So we order the boat sashimi and another sashimi plate between 2 people which was enough. This time i didn't waste time looking at the menu so i knew exactly what to order. I did warm my friend on the wait time but this was her closest Japanese restaurant without having to travel too far out. As expected like last times experience we waited quite some time. It felt like they had to go catch the fish, come back and clean it and do whatever they needed to do to present a really nice looking platter or sashimi. Average food. good location but this place is not authentic Japanese cuisine

Kawa-Sake was not our first option as the other Japanese restaurant was fully booked. So we googled and this was closest to us at the time. The setting makes it feel like a Japanese bar, tiny and not many seating so lucky we made a reservation. Kawa-Sake filled up quickly so it got very noisy and squashy. We booked for 4 adults and a toddler but they do not have any high chairs so my son had to sit on a stool and i had to watch his back most of the time. We ordered a few tapas dishes to share and the main was a platter of sashimi. The food came out slowly and as the tapas was only small it was eaten quite quickly and we hd to wait for each dish to come out separately. Food was delicious and fresh but the wait time was so so so long. We had to wait an hour for our platter of sashimi. We cancelled our pancake because it didn't come out with the other dishes.
