Kenilworth Homestead

Really enjoyed the weekend, the facilities were clean, the camp area was like a lawn it was so beautifully mown. Loved the animals too. Would definitely stay there again.

Booked into this campsite hoping for a nice quiet getaway with my young family. On arrival I asked specifically if there was anywhere in particular we should avoid and was told "no, we aren't that busy this weekend". We set up our gear and settled in for the weekend.
That night the music and swearing started, apparently a 40th birthday party. I lay in bed hoping that the "strict 10:30pm noise curfew" would kick in, unfortunately it didn't, at least not until almost 4am the next morning. To say my 2 1/2yr old was tired and cranky is an understatement!

As a family we have been going to the homestead for the past 12 year's and more recently in the past 4 year's have been camping with friends and their children. Although we have seen many positive changes and improvements to the camping grounds unfortunately in the last 2 year's it is evident that our camping experience has been unforgettable for the wrong reasons. The showers have not improved in relation to cleanliness and hot water (shower drips when all showers are in use - nil pressure) and there is an increasing septic smell when in or around amenities. With the increasing numbers in campers over the last couple of years maybe this issue needed to be addressed by management to ensure campers are happy and that they will return. Another evident issue that cane to our attention was the new speed bumps into the entrance of the camping grounds (and long the road). We stayed at the homestead for 2 nights recently - a group of 15 people. On arrival we entered the gate 5 minutes early and were told we would be let off this time but don't do it again. It was for our own protection we were told with last minute mowing etc. We were the first in the park and the first for the week-end - it wasn't opened all week - the toilets were dirty. No hot water in the showers - nowhere to put towels, clothing or soap.



We won't be staying again - we'll go down to the showgrounds for $5 per night instead of $15 per person per night.

The Homestead this Christmas was fantastic! It was so great to have so much to participate in leading up to New Years! The New Years Eve carnival was great fun for families and Matt was excellent! The prices may have risen after many years of staying the same but the quality is there, renovated bathrooms, clean and park like campgrounds with great friendly helpful staff! What a lovely place to relax.
