If you want to pay a lot of money for not a lot...then book into Duncraig Keturah Day Spa. The reception staff was exceptional, based on the professional greeting, I thought I was in for big things, however, I was to be disappointed. The back/neck/shoulder massage was very underwhelming. The facial was not bad however the 'upselling of products' started during the facial and started up again when the facial ended. I was almost expected to purchase the products that totalled $200 - as they were almost bagged for me at the front desk until i had to have the 'uncomfortable' conversation where I said 'I wouldn't be taking the products'. This really took away from my experience. I was expecting great things from a place that has won so many awards.
Went in for a pregnancy massage. This is my 2nd pregnancy & at least 8th pregnancy massage In total. First time at keturah. Lovely relaxing atmosphere but masseuse didn't seem to be trained for pregnant women!! Didn't know to not lay flat on back so I spent the 2nd half of massage worrying & anxious. Even tho I said something nothing was done to prop me up. Nice place to relax, not recommended for speciality treatments.
Who would have thought that an eyebrow tint could be such a negatively, impacting experience? I walked into the treatment room and laid down on my back. I told the therapist that I like my eyebrows dark, to please leave the dye on longer, because I like them dark. Then proceeded to put Vaseline Jelly all over my eyebrows, yes, all over them, not just on the skin around. I was asked what colour I would normally use. I asked to use Dark Brown. Said "You are Blonde you know!!" I said "Yes, I like this colour" Why do I have to defend and explain every decision - just do what I have asked!!!!!. Then said "OK, Natural Brown" Now, I don't know if this is just a different word that they have for their colour at Keturah, perhaps it is - otherwise they went against my instructions. Anyway, they applied the dye ontop of the vaseline..and waits. A few minutes later takes the right hand side off.
