Takeaways
KFC
At $2.50 for large chips and gravy I thought I'd drop by here again. The chips most definitely had that 'KFC flavour', though they weren't completely cooked through. The gravy was bland, a disappointment. Also disappointing was that despite it being lunchtime there was only one staff member taking orders and another one packing them - so there was quite a queue and I had to wait longer than I would have expected to get my order.
It could be that KFC is everyone's favorite choice of food, or that this KFC is located in the busy food court of City Cross, or that people love and/or love to take advantage of their $1 hot chips... but in the past month, every time I've decided to want a quick fix of their $1 hot chips, the line up has been quite long! Maybe it could even be a slight bad managing of service? When I came here the other day they only had 1 person serving and another person getting the food together and I noticed 2 people in the kitchen. Under the pump with such a long line, but the guys coped well enough.
The food court they're in has lots of choices which means they're not as busy here as perhaps other restaurants - means the waiting time is less but on the other hand their food doesn't seem as fresh as other places, like it's been sitting for a little while. Does mean you can ask for something different though & know it won't take too long to be cooked. I've used coupons here with no problems, so it's a bit more affordable than some of the other places in the food court.
