I did Karate a for 6 years a long time ago. I have been training with Mal for 2 months and I feel more confident to defend myself against a multiple atttack than I did when I was doing Karate. The main difference is I can restrain attackers without hurting them unlike Karate and MMA where you have to hurt the attacker to make them stop. Thats how you end up in jail.
Mal McRae is an authentic Master, come and test his skills in a non-violent manner, and will become quickly evident. Mal has cross-trained with all sorts and does thing that most people in Aikido cannot do!
If there are 6 aspects to martial arts; 1 hitting; 2 taking a hit; 3 entering; 4 touch-response; 5 take-downs and 6 ground fighting, Aikido emphasises 4 & 5.
