Our daughter has just spent a magical 2 years at Kilvington's ELC. The staff there are nothing short of amazing! She is now going onto prep there. The transition process from the ELC to prep has been brilliant. There have been three prep transition sessions and our daughter has loved them all. There was also a professionally presented information night for parents and there are several get togethers for prep families organised by parents who already have children in the junior school. Such friendly, welcoming people! What originally sold us on the school was the enrolment interview with the Head of junior school. She spent time getting to know our daughter during the interview and we felt like she really listened to us and our questions. You can tell that she has time for people. Amazing school. Caring, nurturing staff and a fabulous community spirit. They get to know the students and family and genuinely care. The head of the junior school is an amazing educator and role model. This is one independent school that is not about elitism or profit, it is about the students academic, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.
After attending a school tour, I was thoroughly impressed and decided to enrol my child in the junior school. I am so glad that we decided to move to Kilvington, as the experience in the school has been nothing but positive. The staff have been very welcoming towards our family and allowed my daughter to settle in smoothly. The head of junior school listens to parents and you can tell that she genuinely cares for the children. I have had no hesitation in recommending the school to my friends and look forward to continuing on to the secondary school in the future.
Extremely negative and unprofessional experience during the application process. We had an interview which we were told was simply a formality, as a definite position was available and we would receive a letter of offer after the interview. At the interview I was called by the wrong name, as was my child, and finally my husband was asked what his name was. After a couple of weeks following the interview, with no contact from the school, I sent an email just checking on the process and when we would expect to hear from them. I received a reply email saying that everything was good from their end and I would be receiving all the info within the next week. Several weeks later after still no contact, my husband tried to contact the appropriate person several times, they were always unavailable, and failed to return his calls. Just yesterday we received a letter in the mail, saying that at this stage the school was unable to offer my child a place and good luck for ...read more
