So we walked in, just the four of us from Sydney craving something to eat. At first glance all signs pointed to the 'Exit', seats still stacked up, a flakey entry menu at the front entrance enticing us to come in and eat, or that's what we thought they wanted it to do. Still with no where else to go we journeyed in through the Asian inspired interior design to find the staff who kindly seated us at a nicely presented table. Things were looking up, someone actually worked here. My fianc© and I ordered jasmin tea whilst we reviewed the menu and our friends went to the ...read more
Being a coeliac it is hard enough to find decent food for me to eat on the coast. Upon entry to the restaurant we were informed that "Everything is gluten free except the spring rolls". Deciding to dine there, we chose a table and sat down. Yes they were busy but we sat there for over twenty minutes without water, or being asked for our order. A family sat down next to us and was fussed over straight away, we were still ignored for a further ten minutes, when finally our order was taken. While we had to wait for over an hour for our food, we were given the cutlery from the table next to us (the family clearly had the sense to walk out!). Our drinks come about thirty minutes after we asked for them, and we were treated as a pain for ordering them. When our food finally came, it wasn't as impressive as we were lead to believe. Having travelled to Vietnam in 2009, I was so excited to find a Vietnamese restaurant on the coast!
The food is delicious and fresh, the meals are a decent size, the price is a little more expensive than similar in Cabramatta but that is not unusual for the Central Coast and totally worth every cent. Kim and his staff have been lovely and friendly every time I have been there. My favourite restaurant on the coast and I will be going back again and again!
Firstly I have to say I was hesitant about going to this restaurant after reading the only review and seeing how disappointed 'angry123' was. I am one of them people that like to experience things for myself and thought I would give it a crack despite the negative review.
When I walked in the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I had made a booking and was given a selection of tables to choose from. The place looked very nice and is in an old heritage style building at The Entrance which makes it stand out amongst the rest of the shops. It has an old style look about it. The menu is written in english accompanied by the vietnamese name of the dish. There is a wide variety which includes seafood. If there are four or more people there is also a selection of banquets to choose from. There were three of us in total so we ordered an entree each and a main each to share, with a couple of rice side dishes. ...read more
