King Of Kings Seafood Restaurant
With a name like King of Kings, one cannot help but have high expectations. And this restaurant delivers. One of the most renowned Chinese restaurants in Fortitude Valley, this place is known for its flavour-filled food and fresh ingredients. Yum Cha is particularly popular, so it might be advisable to book ahead.
With a seating capacity of two hundred, the atmosphere is busy yet enjoyable. Serving diners for over twenty years, King of Kings is well-placed to ensure you have an enjoyable night out.
Everyone knows the real Chinatown is out at Sunnybank but King of Kings, hidden down an arcade in the Valley, still has the best yum cha in town. It ticks all the right yum cha boxes: Is it packed full of Chinese people? Check. Is the décor no frills? Check. Are the dumplings consistently good (and cheap)? Check. Is the service friendly and efficient? Check. You canâ??t go wrong at King of ...read more

Oh boy I love yum cha and this place always pleases when the craving hits. The food is consistent and reasonably priced however the last few times I've been there its been untidy and messy/dirty tables unfortunately which overshadows the good stuff sadly. During peak times this does happen a lot and it seems clean tables/floors are neglected in place of more customers. The delicious mango pillows for dessert however make everything okay :)
I love the $49pp banquet at this place, especially the Peking duck pancakes followed by the duck San Choy Bow - then sensational scallops to name a few dishes but you a need minimum 4 people. Instead we ordered deboned roast duck with plum sauce and peppered bugs. We got two medium to large bugs cut in half which were cooked perfectly, flesh still soft and moist and good balance with the pepper. The duck was crispy on the outside and the sauce not to sweet. We also shared special fried rice which was packed with good sized prawns and lots of egg. Big portions, could easily have taken home a doggy bag.
There are a lot of Asian restaurants at China Town in Fortitude Valley but I think this is one of the better ones (food wise) and its BYO $3pp. The atmosphere is a bit lacking, red carpet and bright lights in one large room and the wait staff come around with a trolley and large tub to clear away your plates. #reviewtowin
Today I attended King of Kings for yum cha with a group of my friends for new years day celebrations.
When we arrived we were shown to a table, and were promptly seated. I requested that we have 2 separate bills as my partner and I have special dietary requirements. This was not a problem, the staff gave us two separate sheets, and this was all ok. When the first cart of food arrived at our table, we selected some dishes, and advised the staff that 2 of them were to be marked off on our bill, and the rest on the rest of the groups bill. The staff then seemed confused and went to speak to someone more superior than them. A lovely staff then arrived at our table, and explained that there was to be only one bill per table. I explained ...read more
