When i was little my family and i would travel from our farm in Strathalbyn to our holiday house in Encounter Bay, passing by this beautiful old rundown mansion at Currency Creek and thankfully over the years i have been able to watch this place transform to what is now one of the Fleurieu Peninsulas premium boutique restaurant/come bed and breakfast/come function venue.
Its beautifully manicured gardens surrounded by divine stone masonry created by its owner Chris Norris, is the perfect backdrop to enjoy the culinary delights of its restaurant, which as mentioned caters for functions as well as group bookings and drop in visitors.
It recently gained the addition of a small but well equip retail store which sells unique homewares and fashion accessories, so while the boys enjoy Chianti on the patio the girls can shop!
This place is something like out of Tuscany, definitely worth the stop!
