tyring to find a nice healthy vegie pastie at the moment for a quick and easy lunch, so ventured to muddings but theirs seem to have gone down hill- no longer wholemeal and mainly consisted of mashed potato unfortunately rather than chock full of a variety of vegies. they do do great cakes here though and very reasonably priced. only open sundays for 2 hours now in morning. staff are always friendly and helpful.
still great budget place for fresh quality sandwiches - we usually order cheese, avacado and salad sandwiches or coleslaw sandwiches (4 sandwiches costs us $20 to share) which are super healthy and cheap. also have daily made wholemeal vegetable pasties which are great. still lovely friendly service. can be difficult to get nearby park as Kingsway extra busy now but worth the walk. cheapest cakes around. coffees also available which are OK.
Muddings Kingsway bakery in Glen Waverley is excellent for simple lunches such as meat/vegetable pastries and sandwiches. the salad sandwiches are jammed pack full of salads including avocado, beetroot, tuna mix and $6 for a "5 salads" and avacado sandwich is super reasonable too. get there before the lunch rush starts at 12 noon or after lunch to avoid the queues. there is an extensive range of cakes on display which are all really good and made to order cakes (their speciality mudcakes) are the cheapest around but excellent quality. the owner Kath and her husband works super hard to be open 7 days a week and all staff are always very friendly, seating inside and outside but limited. great service and great food!
