Recently my husband and I were driving back to Brisbane from Sydney. We were ready for breakfast and came across Klewz Kafe, which from the street looked perfect, friendly, earthy and a nice street facade. As we went in there was one couple in outdoor seating eating what looked like a nice breakfast....and we were hungry and ready for a coffee. We went in and paid for an order of 2 eggs each on toast and a coffee and went thru to the back where the indoor seating is.... it was only us and a couple who were already eating. We sat and waited, reading papers, I even went back over the street to the newsagent and bought a book...and we waited....a couple of men sat down near us as we still waited. It had been over 30 minutes and I suggested to my husband that maybe we should wait 5 more minutes and as I said that our lukewarm coffees arrived and the same girl gave the two full breakfasts to the men, when we inquired to where our simple breakfast was the girl ...read more
I have been to this cafe many times over the years and service has always been impecible and i have never once had to wait longer than usual for anything ordered, whether it be a works breakfast or a simple latte. Food here is fantastic, and i would recomment to anyone - whether a local or a tourist to definately go in for breakfast, lunch, coffee. Anything. As for the above comment, well that day my three friends and i were there for coffee and enjoying ourselves when a lady and her husband took a seat near us waiting for their order. It was actually a saturday and the three girls that were working were quite busy and obviously had a lot of orders to get through. The couple definately didn't wait any longer than fifteen minutes before they started getting annoyed by their "late" breakfast, after which they quite loudly and abruptly started to swear and carry on about the service - keeping in mind that there were children present nearby.
Well that's not a bad try at attempting to "help out" ....maybe a friend? Exactly which day was that that you were in the cafe the same time as us? Hmmmm I can't see where I wrote in the date and time :) It was a Sunday.... there were no children, there were no "ladies".... there was no swearing, no raised voices and ultimately and much more importantly "no service". How could you possibly think for a minute that a poor attempt of covering up would be believable :)
I think I should add here that I in no way am complaining about the quality or choice of the food available.... mainly because we didn't get any :)
