Knead is an excellent little cafe - great bread, nice sweets and good coffee. The staff don't treat you with with that typical melbourne aloofness they are friendly and actually converse. The coffee is surprisngly good and all of their food (cooked and pre-made sandwiches etc) are good.
It is maybe slightly expensive (food-wise) for the area, but you get what you pay for. I must admit though, when venturing in on the weekend I have not had as good a coffee as you get during the week - perhaps that has changed by now though as I haven't been in on the w/e in a while.
Hi Erika, as of December 2009, Knead now has new owners. Myself and my fiance. we hope you will come back soon and get to know us. I can assure you that a good attitude and polite, helpful customer service is at the top of our priority list. I am sure you will notice the change immedietely. You are completely right that a negative attitude will keep customers away! By the way, we still have the exact same delicious bread and treats, that hasnt changed!
