"Casablanca in Croydon" We visited the Kofi bean cafe After an absence of three years. We found it just as fascinating and comfortable as before. The interior has changed, Along the side wall black leather settees around a coffee tables provide a relaxing area for coffee and a read. The rear courtyard adds a totally contrasting ambience and is quiet and peaceful. The coffees and food are organic and our choice of breakfasts were delightful. Two Omelette with roast cherry tomatoes, french beans, herbs and feta with eggplant relish and whole wheat toast, with bacon. The organic coffee was full bodied, with a smooth lingering after-taste. We found the service excellent and will return.
I loved Kofi Bean when the orginal owners were managing the cafe.
The new owners have no respect for loyal customers. I've since stopped going to Kofi Bean and have started going to the cafe across the road.
Kofi Bean's quality has significantly reduced and the prices have increased. The food and coffee is just not good enough, and to top it off the wait times are awful and the place is so noisey and cluttered. #reviewtowin
Love this place! Sad that the first owners sold but understand that's life. Not a fan of the removal of the outdoor garden and toilet area.. Had to go all the way to the cinema to use their toilet, I like to know that there is a toilet available when you need it and not have to wait in line with the .. Locals.. At the public scary toilet on Main Street. (I can't use it, don't feel safe in that area).
Otherwise still my favourite cafe in croydon :)
We visited the Kofi bean cafe again and found it just as fascinating as before. The interior is arrayed with colourful gifts from Africa and the Middle East, and includes rugs, pottery, and stunning multi coloured lamps, a real feast for the eyes as you drink and dine, even the alfresco area is surrounded by a striking tile-lined barrier. At the front overlooking the street, red leather settees around a coffee table provide a relaxing area for coffee and a read. The rear courtyard adds a totally contrasting ambience and is quiet and peaceful. The coffees and food are organic and our choice of breakfasts were delightful. Eggs Benedict, poached eggs on Turkish bread with hollandaise and salmon, and Organic free range Omelette with roast cherry tomatoes, french beans, herbs and feta with eggplant relish and whole wheat toast, with bacon. From an excellent wide ranging menu, all tastes are well catered for. The organic coffee was full bodied, with a smooth lingering ...read more
