Lowanna and Kevin run Kombu as a social enterprise where environmental and social impacts of the business (including the products we sell) is considered equally as important as the usual financial considerations. To that end they also run the business along not-for-profit lines with any profits at the end of the year going back into the business and into the wider community.

Kombu is my favourite place in Bellingen. When you walk in you are always greeted with a smile and the most delectable smell! What is that guys?! :) Thank you for always going above and beyond with customer service and for having such a huge range of healthful, local, ethical and yummy products. I feel healthier just by being there! :)
Poor service (putting it mildly). Intended to buy a drink, waiting in line to purchase drink... a local (based on this individual greeting others in store on a first name basis) pushed (passed) ahead of me, placed a number of items on the counter & was then served. I was standing in line for at least a few minutes. It was pretty obvious I was waiting to be served, waiting behind another being served at the time... yet another staff member then continued to serve this rude/inconsiderate (female) individual & subsequently honour such behaviour. Don't give a stuff about a non-local... right?!... or someone just wanting to purchase a drink?!
Hi Cory, thanks for your feedback. I was very sorry to read that the service in store did not work out for you. The team work really hard and most of the feedback we get is excellent, so we were very dissapointed to hear how it went for you. Sometimes if we get a pushy customer it can be better for everyone to quickly serve them and then apologise to everyone else...but generally we work hard to serve everyone in turn. It can get pretty busy at the front and looks like we messed up this time. I'd like to reassure you that it is important to us to treat everyone the same, regardless of who you know and where you live. I've passed your comments onto the team and we appreciate the chance to learn from your feedback.
