If you are into unique by tasty food experiences, then Konjo is well worth a visit. I've had Ethiopian at various places across Melbourne and Konjo did not disappoint. I ordered the lamb Kai Wot and it was tender, flavoursome and delicious - even fresh and interesting I'd say. Service was great and I recommend Konjo and it is worth supporting. You can also try a combination of the dishes for $12 if you are in an indecisive mood. This place is vegan and vegetarian friendly too and do not be dissuaded because of the outside.
I’ve eaten at a number of Ethiopian restaurant across Footscray and Flemington, and have only recently come across this by accident. It’s based along Irving Street in Footscray, lots of restaurants along this strip that simply don’t look appealing, which is probably why I’ve overseen this one before. We had lunch here over the weekend, and opted for the mix platter for $20.50 per person and included a mixed of lamb stew, beef ribs, lentils, peas cabbage and few more all nicely presented. The service was wonderful, we finished up with a jebana traditional brewed coffee. The service was a bit slow, however all well worth the wait. I would highly recommend this place for anyone trying out Ethiopian dishes for the first time.
